The Serendipity village and a focus
I want to introduce you to our little place of village RP, entertainment and fairground, and its services, but first I have to tackle an important subject, and I’m going to do it with a straight face. So, without any compromise or diplomacy on my part, let’s get started. If this outrages you, please know that it’s not my concern.
Gorean University is not Lifestyler!
Yes, our village is on the Serendipity One sim, which belongs to Gorean University. And Gorean University has a reputation for being a Lifestyler sim, which is completely false.
So let’s be clear: I don’t like lifestylers AT ALL! Anyone who believes that Norman’s Gorean philosophy is an acceptable and desirable code of living in real life is, in essence, an enemy of my lifestyle and ideals! I’m a fucking feminist, LGBT, human rights activist!
That said, I’ve found that the lifestylers on Gor aren’t, in general, really. Yes, they like Gor’s and Norman’s philosophy, which I don’t understand that, but they only partially apply it to themselves, among themselves, without imposing it or believing themselves superior. And I respect that! Because that also means they respect that I’m a woke, leftist, humanist, feminist and LGBT. Mutual respect, beyond opinions, being the bedrock of any community, is fine by me. We can even talk! Real assholes are rare, and they keep to themselves and don’t reach out to others; probably because others can’t stand them for long!
Gorean University isn’t lifestyler. It’s a set of sims, based around a structure and a small community that’s been around for a long time, back when people came to play on Gor SL in total immersion (no OOC, no player/character difference, in short, lifestyler stuff). But on the one hand, Gorean University has never encouraged this type of play, and on the other, the years have gone by and mentalities, expectations and desires for play have changed! Gorean University is just a setting around a central square, where every week, members give free classes on all subjects relating to roleplay and the world of Gor, and where, every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. SLT, a debate is held on a subject relating to roleplay or the world of Gor.
And do you know what one of the latest topics was? Emotional safety, fair play and respect for differences between players and characters! Or before that, another debate on how to welcome new players, without scaring them away by immersing them in the world of Gor, and making sure all players have fun! Not very lifestyler-like, is it?
During classes and debates, the atmosphere is one of roleplay lite. Those who stay in their Gorean role are respected, as are those who want to speak completely freely OOC. No one risks any of the usual threats of Gor roleplay, and the atmosphere is friendly, inclusive, benevolent and open, far removed from any concept of Gorean BtB. And you can come on the sim all the time, to roleplay, or stay OOC, ask for advice, or just chat!
In the university, there are stores, information and documentation areas. And, yes, there used to be a slavers’ compound, which served as a roleplay school for kajirae in education and training. There, you played your character, and like other places, like the Gorean Campus or the En’kara Fair, you could take courses to discover the world of Gor, its roles, castes and so on.
But I insist: no one is forcing you to do anything, especially not to explain to you what real Gor is! It’s like this website: I write encyclopedic articles to help people who want to find out more, not to impose my point of view. Well, on Gorean University, it’s the same.
The sim is also home to private plots that have nothing to do with Gor, such as a modern wrestling hall, with roleplay fights between wrestlers, complete with audience, music and dancers, every Sunday aflternoon (SLT). It’s great fun, by the way, so I invite you along : Mixed Maulers wrestling
If you want to learn more,Contact Black Ort, io Cloud, or me, or join the group : The Gorean University (GPSU) and come visit during one of the classes or the Sunday debates!

The village of Serendipity
Alongside the Gorean University sim is the Serendipity one sim, and the village I’ve created around Lyra’s house (my Mistress in roleplay). This village is a small, complete setting, designed like a Gorean caravanserai. There’s an inn, baths, tavern, marketplace, private hospital managed by Lyra and her family, a scribe’s office and a few houses.
The place is open to everyone. In the village, people come to roleplay, like any other Gorean sim. The rules are simple, open, benevolent and inclusive. Combat, other than by roleplay and dice, is forbidden, and there are NPC guards to ensure safety.
While the village is a place for roleplay, it abides by the same rules as the rest of the Gorean University sims: respect players, don’t confuse player and character, be fair, play your part as a Gor character while respecting others.
Need an inn to host a party? You’re welcome! Want to organize a slave-selling event (in roleplay, of course!)? There’s a stage in the marketplace! Need a private bath or tavern for a party? You’re welcome! Need a fully equipped hospital? We’ve got one! And if you’d like to organize an event, all you have to do is contact me! I’ll work with you to arrange the necessary decorations, and give you the rights to put up objects for the event.
We’re going to organize regular events there: tharlarion races, a monthly market fair, etc. We don’t care about traffic. It’s not a real Gorean city, it’s a setting offered to the community. A setting managed according to our human principles and ideals, which means anything but Lifestyler. Otherwise, I simply wouldn’t participate…
Here’s the link to visit the village, so treat yourself and see for yourself!
